D.G. for Dan Graham
1998 for Simona Denicolai and Ivo Provoost
A.D. for Alec De Busschère

In 1994, the city of Nantes commissioned the American artist D.G. to create a project for the Place du Commandement Jean l'Herminier: "New Labyrinth for Nantes".

In 1998, the artist couple Denicolai-Provoost carried out a temporary intervention of a participative nature on this square. The work entitled "1998" consisted of a wooden footbridge leading to three Algecos installed on D.G.'s work. A series of artists were then invited by Ivo and Simona to intervene within the framework of "1998".

A.D.'s project proposes the production of a plaster object representing the square as it appeared in 1998 with its footbridge and its Algecos. A "souvenir" object like those usually found in cities; a copy or a scale model of sculptures or constructions generally representative of the identity of a city or site.

The intervention consisted of a billboard, a video and a silkscreen print.

The production of the object has never been carried out.

D.G./1998/A.D. remains an open proposal.
