amuivbfoimer! [ah ' m wxiiv b ee f w ah ' m ehrx]. express. (1998; created by accident by Gaël Van Weyenbergh)
1° word left at the bottom of an e-mail message by randomly typing on the keyboard and resulting from an impossibility to formulate a thought or a feeling.
2° word in the subjective sense, resulting from a difficulty to communicate.
A word that was initially meaningless, a chance word from a personal message, was projected into the public space of the city. The act which provoked it became its definition and gave it its meaning. The relationship of language with the city is usually made through advertising, the identities of places and brands. Here it is a question of the magnification of a word which should never have had a place in the public space and in the etymological domain. Is it a communication strategy using a word whose origin means an impossibility to communicate? Is it a fiction of language? What place will this unpronounceable and unidentifiable word take by virtue of its introduction into the public space of the city?
